Saundersfoot to Tenby Circular
About
This route skirts the western coast of Carmarthen Bay, Tenby, and Saundersfoot within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, taking in beautiful beaches, cliffs, and moorland and offering incredible views along the way.
The first half of this walk coincides with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. After turning inland, the path will be a mixture of open pastures and woodlands. The trail is marked with acorn waymarkers.
The trail starts in Saundersfoot and follows the road out of town before continuing on the footpath through the Trevayne Wood and along the coast.
You’ll cross a footbridge and pass a cave before continuing between the trees to Monkstone Point, where you’ll have some spectacular views of the coastline.
Continue above Moonstone Beach. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to detour and visit the sandy beach and dip your toes in the water before continuing the route.
As you make your way along the path, there are some fantastic views of the coastal town of Tenby ahead.
Reaching North Beach and Tenby, you could take some time to wander through the town and get some refreshments before beginning the journey back, which takes you inland, heading across the farm fields.
This second half of the route involves some road walking, so please take extra care along these sections as you follow a mix of roads and paths back to Saundersfoot.
If you would rather avoid the road sections, you could make this route an out-and-back instead and follow the same path back after visiting Tenby.
