Kilns of the Black Mountains

This trail takes in the historic Kilns of the Black Mountains. This area has been quarried for hundreds years for limestone. This limestone was then fired in kilns to make lime. This was a very important agricultural export that was used throughout the region. As you walk along this short by informational loop, you will learn all about the history of lime production in this area. It is a wonderful outing for the whole family.
