Dolaucothi and Caio River Circular

A fantastic hike that takes you through beautiful forest, hilly terrain, farmland, and along the rivers and streams. It starts by the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, which is the only Roman gold mine in the UK and in itself is well worth a visit (for which you'll have to pre-book).

The trail visits Caio and continues uphill through Caeo Forest. It heads through grassland and makes its way along the River Cothi back to the start point. It takes in lovely, varied scenery and stunning views along the way.

Some parts of the path can get muddy when there has been recent rainfall, so come prepared with the appropriate footwear for this walk.
