Llyn y Fan Fach, Fan Brycheiniog, Fan Hir, and Llyn y Fan Fawr
About
Enjoy beautiful views and stunning mountain scenery as you take on this challenging trail. With exposed, high summits and steep, rocky terrain, this trail will require a good level of fitness and navigation abilities. This route should only be attempted in calm, clear, and dry conditions.
The trail begins with a steady climb to Llyn y Fan Fach with the path becoming steeper and undulating as it takes in the tops of Waun Lefrith, Picws Du, Fan Brycheniog, and Fan Hir.
The trail then descends via Allt Fach before climbing again to Llyn y Fan Fawr and returning to the start below the high cliffs.
Take care on the rougher and steeper sections, especially in wetter conditions when the terrain becomes more difficult.
Due to the exposed summits, this trail should not be attempted in adverse weather conditions or low visibility as the trail will become more difficult.
Appropriate footwear, warm and waterproof layers, plenty of food and water, and a downloaded map are essential.
