Llwybr ar Lan yr Afon (Riverside Walk)
About
This is a lovely riverside route through Brechfa Forest, following the River Gorlech and crossing the humpback bridge to return along the forest road back to the car park.
Brechfa Forest covers 6500 hectares of woodland. This area was once an ancient forest called Glyn Cothi Forest, which became a Royal Forest in 1283 and was heavily used as timber in the Forest World War.
It’s a wonderful trail to do with the whole family, being suitable for all ages and most fitness levels. There are no steps, though appropriate footwear is advised as the paths can get muddy after rainfall.
