Dan-Yr-Ogof and Craig-Y-Nos-Castle Circular
About
A stunning walk up to Cribarth mountain, which is also known as the Sleeping Giant. This is because from the southwest view the hill resembles a giant laying down sleeping. On this moorland walk, you will have spectacular views and cross some of the biggest shake holes in the UK, including Pwll yr cawr, the largest shake hole in Wales.
The trail passes a bronze age circle of stones known as the seven stones of saith, passes over Dan-Yr-Ogof caves and loops around to Craig y nos country park. It’s a really nice short walk with hill formations that are different from a lot in the local area. It’s steep at the start and potentially wet underfoot in the country park. Some parts of the path can get a bit overgrown in certain seasons.
