Pennard Castle via Pobbles Bay and Three Cliffs Circular
About
Pennard Castle dates back to the 12th century, shortly after the Norman invasion of Wales. Originally a more simple wood fenced inclosure, a larger stone castle was later built. The catle is now in ruins, but still offers an interesting and scenic site to visit.
This route takes you on a largely out-and-back route along the coast from Southgate to the castle.
Some of the paths can get a little muddy at times, and the coastal trails offer little protection from the elements, so waterproof footwear and good warm and waterproof clothing is recommended.
