Pennard Castle, Three Cliffs Bay, and Penmaen

About

This is a beautiful varied trail taking in a great mix of natural and historic sights as you make your way around the coast and countryside.

The trail begins by crossing the farmlands and passing through Penmaen, heading for the beach at Three Cliffs Bay, before winding above the cliffs to Cromen where there are great views out to sea.

The trail continues past the golf course and the remains of Pennard Castle, a 13th to 14th century keep now in ruins. The trail returns to the start via Gower Heritage Centre, where you can see the 12th century water-powered mill, the Victorian blacksmith's forge, the woollen mill, and wood turner's room.

The trail is along a combination of farmland paths, paved roads and lanes, and rougher, sandy sections, so care is needed around vehicles and in wetter conditions. Appropriate footwear is advised.
