Bishopston Valley Walk
About
This trail leads you through Bishopston Valley to Pwll Du Bay, a beautifully secluded beach within the Gower National Landscape.
Starting from Kittle Green, follow the path through the woodland past the Daw Pit, which was formed by an underground river.
Continue down the slope and follow the meandering stream through the valley. You’ll pass the Guzzle Hole on the way, a cave where you can hear the underground stream rushing through. Further on, you’ll pass Long Ash Mine, where silver and lead were produced.
Follow the stream all the way to Pwll Du Bay, which used to be popular with smugglers and was once a limestone quarry. After spending some time at this beautiful beach, follow the same route back to Kittle Green.
Dogs are welcome on this trail but keep in mind that you may encounter livestock on the way, so leads are advised. The paths can get muddy after rainfall, so come prepared with the appropriate footwear.
