The Gower Way: Penller Castell to Gowerton

About

The Gower Way was created to explore the lesser known parts of the area, taking in scenic paths, beautiful views, and interesting sites as you wind your way from Penller Castle near Ammanford to the Lookout Station at Worms Head near Rossili.

This section of the long distance trail winds from Penller Castle to Gowerton, taking in Mynydd y Gwair, Brynllefrith Plantation, Lliw Upper, Lower Lliw Reservoir, Felindre, and Pontlliw along a combination of paved roads, narrow lanes, and rougher paths. Along the way, there are marker stones that you can spot, with this trail passing numbers 50 to 30.

Take care on the rougher sections, especially in wetter conditions when the terrain becomes more difficult, and along the roads where you will need to be aware of vehicles. Appropriate footwear is advised.

There is no parking directly at the trailhead as the trail starts at the castle on the hill. There is parking along the road to the west.
