Keeper of the Collieries Circular
About
This is a lovely trail leading you up along the slopes of Mynydd Bach overlooking Maesteg in the valley below.
Starting from Maesteg railway station, head uphill to follow the waterway along the hillside and continue on a section of the North’s Navigation Railway. Eventually, you’ll make a sharp turn to follow the bridleway to the Keeper of the Collieries Sculpture, which stands atop the site of the former Coegnant Colliery and Maestef Washery. It was built out of oak and depicts a miner.
From here, make your way back down to Maesteg, where there are plenty of places to get some refreshments afterwards.
