St Thomas Way 1: Swansea

About

St Thomas Way is made up of 13 circular trails inspired by the ancient pilgrimage undertaken in the 1290 by William Cragh and Lord and Lady Du Briouze. After Cragh's surprisingly unsuccessful hanging by the order of Lord Du Briouze, the miraculous survival was attributed to St Thomas, and William and his companions set off from Swansea to Hereford Cathedral and the shrine of this saint.

This short loop in Swansea takes in the castle and the Church of St Mary where you can learn about the political and religious history of this city.
