Ceibwr Beach to Newport via Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

About

This is a beautiful coastal route in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, leading you from Ceibwr Beach to Newport, following the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, which involves some steep sections.

From the car park, head along Bae Ceibwr Bay, which used to be a port, and continue on the path along the rugged coastline, taking in amazing views out across the water. This leads you past Pwll y Wrach (Witches’ Cauldron), a collapsed cave connected to the sea, which is possible to kayak into. Please note that the cave is closed from mid-August to November as it’s a popular site for seals during pupping season.

Continue along the coast, passing the remnants of Castell Treruffydd, as you make your way to Newport, where you could get some refreshments in one of the cafes or pubs before following the same route back.

In Newport, you’ll see Castell Trefdraeth (Newport Castle), a grade 1 listed building, which originally dates back to the 13th century. However, the current structure was built in 1859 and is now a private residence.

This is an out-and-back trail; however, it can also be done point-to-point by leaving a car at either end to bring you back to the start afterward.
