Teifi River and Estuary Paddle Route

About

This route explores the Teifi River and Estuary, and is a tidal trail. Make sure to check the tide times to avoid mudflats. You can find the tide times here: https://easytide.admiralty.co.uk/. The water can get very rough during poor weather, so always check the forecast before setting out.

This route begins at Llechryd Bridge (SA43 2QA) and ends at Patch Beach (SA43 1PP). There are no portages along this trip. You can park at the layby, just across the bridge.

The flow of the water can be strong. Use this route as a rough guide but always use your best judgment and follow the currents. You will have to navigate the boats and moorings along the way.

To reach the launch point, you must take the gravel track between the gatehouse and the river, down to the riverbank. Cilgerran is an alternate access point.

After you reach The Welsh Wildlife Centre, be advised that there can be a grade 1 rapid, depending on the water levels.

Exit the bay onto Patch Beach. This is a point-to-point route, so make sure to arrange proper return transportation.

Along your journey, there are several pubs and tea rooms if you wish to stop for refreshments.
