Porthgain Circular
About
Starting in the old harbour village of Porthgain, you can’t miss the massive brick buildings by the water that were once used to store crushed rock before it was shipped off. From there, you'll follow the coastal path with its stunning sea views. Keep an eye out for choughs, the rare red-beaked crows that love soaring along the cliffs. You might even spot a porpoise or a seal bobbing in the waves below. Your destination is the famous Blue Lagoon at Abereiddi, an old slate quarry that’s now flooded with unbelievably green-blue seawater. The path back to Porthgain is a gentle stroll through farmlands along the country roads. There’s limited parking available at Porthgain harbour, so care is needed.
