Caerfai Camp and Caerbwdy Bay From Caerfar Beach
About
Caer Bwdy Cove, is a beautiful secluded pebble beach, with a small strip of sand which is revealed at low tide. This trail takes you from the Caerfai Farm cap site, along the clifftop paths, to the cove, and then back again.
Along the way, you will visit the, now admittedly only faintly visible, remains of Caerfai Camp. This ancient fort had four defensive walls which, along with its clifftop position, must have made it a formidable proposition for any would-be invaders.
There is a campsite at the trailhead if you wish to stay in the area to explore some other trails, and the nearby city of St David offers a variety of cafes, pubs and places to stay.
Though a shorter walk, it is still a good idea to carry spare warm and waterproof clothes. Good waterproof footwear with plenty of grip is recommended.
Please stay well back from the cliff edges as they can often be unstable and prone to collapse.
