Freshwater East and Swanlake Bay Circular
About
This coastal trail takes in great views on clear day as you make your way along the cliffs and dunes. Starting at Manorbier Castle, the trail passes Kings Quoit burial chamber before heading to Manorbier Beach.
After this the trail becomes undulating as you take in the coastal path to Swanlake Bay and Freshwater East. The route then returns inland for a section following the road, before rejoining the coastal path back to the start.
There are very rough and steep sections on this trail where care is needed with footing, especially along the coastal path which can become slippery in wetter weather.
Also keep an eye out for adders in the dunes and give them space.
There may also be livestock along the inland paths. Take care along the road section heading out of Freshwater East, particularly if out with dogs.
Appropriate footwear, food, water, and sun protection are advised for this route.
